Zidane's Swansea Lessons to be learnt

We can rant and rave about the game but lets discuss what we can take out of it and use to our benefit

1) I can see reasons for changing the line up with 2 games in 3 days, but lets face it, changes would have been made anyway. At this stage in the season play your best XI and keep to it. DO NOT TINKER we are not Chelsea. Let a player know if he plays well he keeps his shirt, not if you play well then so and so's coming in next week anyway. The shirt should only be taken off you if you've lost your form or injured. Forget squad rotation its competition for places that gets you success.

2) 4-5-1 Walsall look a dangerous attacking force when the ball is played around and not hoofed up to a single lone man. The back up plan we have is 4-4-2 if we need it.  This should be stuck to every game.  We may not win every game but thats to be expected.

3) Simon OSborn is vital to the Midfield, if he's fit he plays

4) Darren Wrack needs to be dropped to let him reflect on his form and to make him raise his standards.  Other options are Wright on the left or Ishmel.

5) The beating maybe a blessing in disguise. I believe we became complacent and arrogant that we will beat everyone in this league. At the end of the day the standard of this league is rubbish lets face it, but teams will make you fight for every point. Simply turning up does not gaurentee you the points!!!

6) Dont loan out players leaving yourself exposed!! Why did we loan out BOTH Harkness and Vaughan? surely with the up and coming busy game schedule we should have a specialised cover for EVERY position.

6) Staunton and Smith are bench players at best. Smith will probably come good as he hasnt had a pre season remember but Stan is not up to it anymore today proved that.  Last season we struggled as a result of a team being built around a 35+ midfielder, he stopped playing and we won.  This season we start off brilliantly but then decide to build the team round a 35+ defender who is no longer up to it!! Please learn from your mistake last season Merse.  Staunton should coach and help out in emergencies only, not be a central figure at the expence of promising Gerrard and Bennett.
