Zidanes Nottingham Forest Vs Walsall team News

Last updated : 09 December 2005 By Andy Van Hagen
Walsall go into the game looking to bounce back from the 2-1 loss away to Oldham in midweek. With our recent record over Forest this could be a chance to improve on our poor away record. However this game will be tough, Forest are not doing as well as they expected this season but their home form is pretty soild as it is their away form that is letting them down.

Walsall team news

Walsall were this week rocked by the news that loan sensation Eric Skora has returned to Preston with a injury that is likely to rule him out of the games remaining in his loan period. Walsall will now face the task of finding a player to replace Skoras creativity, passing and vision.

The Injury list is still quite long at Walsall with Darren Wrack, Chris Westwood, Michael Standing, Mark Wright, Steve Staunton and Andy oakes still out. Mark Kinsella played 45 mins in a run out against Chasetown in midweek but will not be considered. Paul Merson also had a 45 minute run out and he may be tempted to include himself on the bench. Ruben Dario Larossa made his comeback from injury and will be fighting James Constable for a place on the substitutes bench.

Simon Osborn is expected to keep his place even though he does not look fully recovered from his hamstring problems. He may be partnered by Daniel Fox in midfield of Kris Taylor. Taylor looks the favourite as Fox will may return to his left back slot so Walsall have the option of a back 4 or 5.

Forest Team News

Gary Holt returns after serving his one match ban for the sending off he recieved in the FA Cup second round. Forest will be missing strikers David Johnson and Scott Dobie. Dobie is out with a hip problem and Johnson is a long term injury. Defender Danny Cullip is still suffering with hamstring problems so will again miss out.

Prediction

I believe this will be a entertainig game but i think both teams defences may let them down. I am predicting a 2-2 draw. This would be a building block for the Saddlers in regard to away form. The City ground will have a crowd of around 20,000 so Walsall will have a great stage to show what we can do.
