Zidanes Chesterfield Preview

So in the words of Iain Dowie, Walsall need to show their bounce-back-ability against Chesterfield, putting last weeks loss firmly behind them.  Chesterfield away last season was one of the games where us Walsall fans first had to question our League one chances.  At Bescot Chesterfield showed us just what the standard of League one football is ... RUBBISH.  This says alot about them but unfortunately alot about us too.  As long as we remain in this league it is hard not to conceed into the thought that we are not a good team.  If a team has genuine promotion aspirations then Chesterfield at home must be simply viewed as a banker.  However i do not see this as being an easy fixture, infact far from it.  Chesterfield will come to bescot and give us a tough game, they will fight for every ball and try and use their size to batter down our defences.

Ex-Saddlers Returning

Paul Hall joined Chesterfield this summer on a two year contract after turning down a return to bescot and an extra year at Tranmere.

Walsall Team News

Walsall have Julian Bennett missing through suspension as he serves the last of his three match ban.  Darren Wrack has of course joined Daryll Taylor on the injured list while Steve Staunton and Paul Smith come back into contension, however both will have to settle for bench at best.  Michael Husbands should come in to replace Darrren Wack.

Chesterfield Team News

Chesterfield have defenders Alex Bailey and Aaron Downes out while fellow defender Janos Kovac may make a return from injury in the game.  Chesterfields on loan dingle Sammy Clingan is set to make his debut.

Prediction

Im going for a nervous and tight 2-1 win, with Walsall leaving the field knowing they've been in a game.  Id expect Fryatt to get a goal and i think the other will be from Anthony Gerrard from a corner.
