Win two tickets to a Walsall game

Last updated : 29 November 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Walsall MAD has been contacted by a fundraiser who is offering the chance for somebody the chance to win two tickets to a Walsall game. Here are the details:

Hello all my name is Dave Trevaskus.

To start with, you should be very proud of your club. I wrote to every football, rugby and cricket club in the country, and so far only WFC, and Plymouth Argyle have offered any kind of help. It seems most professional sports clubs don't have time to offer something as simple as a ticket, or a signed shirt.

Please read on, we genuinely have been given two tickets by Miss G E Partridge, Commercial Executive.

The reason we are doing this is simple. My girlfriend Amy's father, David Clifton, was diagnosed with a condition called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in March of this year. The one and only reason you may have heard of this disease is because the much-loved comedian and musician Dudley Moore suffered terribly and died of this illness in 2002. For more info on the disease, please visit www.pspeur.org

In a recent meeting with members of the PSP Society, Amy and I were told that the Society now need to raise some £250,000 to £300,000 alone per year for the research they sponsor into this disease. This is simply not enough, and equates to a mere £100 per person estimated to be afflicted by this awful condition. As you could imagine, it's upsetting for me to explain the details of this disease, suffice to say that Parkinson's and Alzheimer's sufferers are in the same league.

We need to raise funds and awareness to enable us to help the noble people at PSP Europe (www.pspeur.org) sponsor research into this disease.

All we are asking for is a small donation online at www.justgiving.com/daveandamy and in return we will enter your name into a draw to win these tickets. For every £1 donated by you, we'll give you one entry into the draw (obviously, donate £10 and you're 10x more likely to win). www.justgiving.com/daveandamy is a safe and secure site.

Please ensure you put WFC after your name so I know to enter you for this prize and email me at david.trevaskus@tesco.net to let me know you have done it, as I will need to provide the club with your name and address if you win.

Neither we, nor the many people aided by your donation, will ever forget any generosity shown by yourselves. All awareness will help.
