Which Walsall player(s) are England looking at?

Last Saturday England Under 21 manager Stuart Pearce was at the Banks's Stadium to take in our 2pm kick off against Millwall. This could have been brushed off as a 'time killer' before the day's big event up the road at Villa Park where our neighbours were hosting Manchester United.

Was Pearce just at Bescot to have a look at Millwall's Simpson who they have loaned from Arsenal?

He could have? Although it has now come to light Stuart Pearce travelled to Yeovil on Tuesday night, is he actually a Walsall fan, or the more likely he has his eye on a Saddler!

Who are his options?

Scott Dann - Outstanding all season, a centre back but may just lack a bit of pace if being uber critical?

Ishmel - England U19 one cap wonder. Fast as lightening but surely you must start for your League One club to get a U21 call up?

Mark Bradley - Well here's one he certainly would not be watching unless he was passing on tips to the Welsh U21 boss!

Anthony Gerrard - Unlikely because although he is Steve Gerrard's cousin, Ant has represented R.O.I youth.  It was howver found out after the match he was not eligible to play for them.

Daniel Fox - young, English and has a left foot. If so I imagine Tuesday could be Pearce's final Walsall game attendance for a while?  Fox can also represent Scotland.

We will eagerly await Stuart Pearce's squad announcement next month.
