Watford trialist looks to impress

Dick Dosh has announced that Jamacian trialist Francino Francis will tonight play for Walsall in the friendly at Hednesford Town.

Francis, a stocky striker with a turn of pace, started out at Stoke City as a trainee in the 2003-4 season. He then joined Watford in the summer of 2005 after the Hornets took over the third year of his Academy scholarship.

He made his debut for Watford in the 2-1 League Cup win at Wolverhampton Wanderers in September before going on to make two further substitute appearances in the 2005/06 season. In January he spent a month on loan at Kidderminster Harriers where he made 3 starts and 3 substitute appearances. To date he has failed to score a first team goal.

This might be an indication that Money has yet to decide on handing Hector Sam a deal at the club. Or it might be looking for a long term prospect.
