The Birmimngham Mail report Walsall have contacted Clayton McDonald's parent club Manchester City to enquire if they can extend Clayton McDonald's stay at the Banks's Stadium for another month.

McDonald, who has captained City's reserves has not made a first team appearance since being substituted during Walsall's 1-0 loss at MK Dons after picking up injury. Now recovered he has been an unused substitute for the Saddlers, being kept out the side by Captain Mark Hughes and Mannie Smith, two players on form.

If Man City reject the request, Clayton will head back to Manchester following Saturday's FA Cup tie at Stourbridge.
