Walsall duo to miss Yeovil clash

Preston North End and Sunderland have both rejected requests from Walsall regarding playing on loan duo Eric Skora and Joe Murphy in the FA Cup against Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Skora is expected to still have a future at Preston North End when he returns to Deepdale in January. While Walsall are expected to ask Sunderland whether they can make Joe Murphys move pernament in January, however while he is still a Sunderland player they do not want him cup-tied.

Joe Murphy has really helped to steady the defence since he came in on loan last month. His absence will be a huge void to fill. Rene Gilmartin the young Irish keeper will step in to replace Murphy at the weekend. Against Merthyr Tydfil in the first round Rene had little to do but when asked he did well, especially with a great stop from a dodgy deflection. For the Merthyr goal he could not be blammed as it was the walls fault for not bing brave enough to stand firm.

The absence of Eric Skora will mean we lose the box to box flair and creativity player that has been missing in the Walsall side for so long before his arrival. It is expected that Kris Taylor will return.
