Walsall don't pay a penny

The Football League Annual agent fee's report has been released regarding player agent fees.

Last Season Walsall were one of eight League One clubs who did not pay for the services of a licensed agent (Blackpool, Colchester United, Gillingham, Hartlepool United, Huddersfield Town, Port Vale, Scunthorpe United and ourselves).

In League Two there were also eight clubs who did not pay for the services of a licensed agent (Barnet, Boston United, Bury, Cheltenham Town, Chester City, Notts County, Stockport County and Wrexham).

These figures show a larger figure than the previous season and it is encouraging to see sides who have gained promotion out of their respective leagues included in these numbers.

In League 1 there were 1,033 player transactions, the previous season there was only 964, so last seasons figure was largely inflated by the prescence of Walsall FC and one manager in particular - Paul Merson!!
