Unknown striker is from Sheffield Wednesday
The striker that Paul Merson has been talking to the press about this week seems to be Sheffield Wednesday front man Lee Peacock.
Peacock is a 6 foot striker that certainly knows where the goal is. For four seasons on the trot between 2000 and 2003 he scored over 15 goals a season. Over the last coulple of seasons the goals have dried up a little for him however his goals to games ratio is still remains a healthy one. Peacock is just the sort of striker we need, at League One level this would a great signing. he is also a player that could make the step up to the Championship should we make it.
Peacock has been told he is surplus to requirements at Sheffield Wednesday and is currently trying to negotiate a pay off that would then see him free to join another club. Possibly us!!!!?
