THREE Saddlers in Team of the Week

It's Monday and you know what that means. The Football League panel release their divisional teams of the week. Last week Anthony Gerrard and Allan Picken were included after the fine 1-0 win at Rochdale.

This week Walsall players have again attracted the eye of the panel with three inclusions for the week which included 2-0 wins over Stockport and Hartlepool.

Kris Taylor, Anthony Gerrard and Saturday's match winner Dean Keates find individual reward this week. Kris Taylor has started the season in good form, linking up well with Daniel Fox along the left hand side. Although it comes as great surprise that he is included as a centre midfielder!!

It's also a surprise to see Anthony Gerrard's name on the list. He has struggled to reach the standards we have come to expect this week and made a number of individual errors of judgement. The two clean sheets will have no doubt counted in his favour but surely Ian Roper, the reluctant hero, should have gained the recognition for a week which also saw him on the score sheet?

Another name of interest in the team of the week is ex-Saddler Julian Joachim.
