Super Jim makes Injury Comeback for West Ham United

Last updated : 23 February 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Super Jimmy Walker made his comeback from injury as West Ham reserves beat Leicester City reserves 5-2. Walker returning from the cruciate ligament rupture he sustained in the Championship Play Off final last May, had a steady game in his come back match.

West Ham United No.1 goalkeeper Roy Carrol is sidelined for the rest of the season so Jimmy could be set for a first team recall in the near future. The shirt is currently held by Shaka Hislop but Jimmy will be waiting in the wings to take his chance should it arise.

Jimmy Walker quickly became a firm fans favourite at West Ham. He won the crowd over with a fine save from a Frank Lampard penalty in last seasons League Cup. The prize of saving the former hammer's penalty achieves cult status!

He found his route to first team football blocked for the first half of last season but broke into the first team in the new year. He suffered the cruciate injury in the second half of the Championship Play Off Final but he still celebrated on the pitch with the lads after their promotion - something which the fans cherished.

Anyway we all wish Jimmy all the best and hopefully we will see him make his Premiership debut soon. There is a possiblity that Walsall fans will get a chance to see him in action at Villa Park in the FA Cup should Villa and West Ham win through!  Come on Villa and West Ham!!!!

One more time .........

Super,
Super Jim,
Super,
Super Jim,

Super Jimmy Walker!!
