Sunderland allow Murphy to stay

Sunderland have this afternoon confirmed that Joe Murphy has been given permission by Manager Mick McCarthy to stay at Walsall on loan. His deal will run out on January 21st. Part of the deal is that there is a 24 hour recall for the stopper.

The extra two months will cover the injury to Andy Oakes and allow some time for Oakes to get his sharpness back in reserve games and training.
