Striker Pär set to sign?

Last updated : 28 November 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Swedish striker, Pär Cederquist looks to be the striker being tracked by Richard Money. The striker who signed for Norweigan side Raufoss in the summer, turned down our original approach instead deciding to join the second divison side. Now several months later, Walsall are high flying and we look a much more attractive proposition.

The 26 year old striker stands at 6 foot 2 inches and has a very impressive goal ratio of 0.53 per game. He made his debut for IFK Värnamo as a 16 year old and he broke into the reserve side when only 14 years of age. His recent career record:

2002 (IFK Värnamo)20 matches, 18 goals (Division 2 East Götaland)

2003 (Djurgården) 5 matches, 0 goals (Allsvenskan)

2003 (Åtvidaberg) 13 matches, 6 goals (Superettan)

2004 (Djurgården) 3 matches, 0 goals (Allsvenskan)

2004 (Öster) 17 matches, 12 goals (Superettan)

2005 (Öster) 28 matches, 11 goals (Superettan)

2006 (Öster) 12 matches, 1 goal (Allsvenskan)

2006 (Raufoss) 11 matches, 10 goals (Division 2, Norway)

Total: 109 matches, 58 goals (0,53 gls/match)

News of this move has been released on Norweigan football sites. Raufoss fans are upset that Cederquist is set to leave them for an English 4th tier side. They fail to see why he would jump ship to a team outside the top leagues.

Richard Money revealed that he was hoping to officially reveal a player this week and he will link up with the Saddlers on January 1st 2007.

The player can be seen in action by following this link
