Striker deal to be announced next week

Richard Money released information in a pre-match interview with Radio WM about Walsall hopefully announcing the 'Bosman' signing a new striker next week.

The striker has played in Scandanavia over the last few years and is described as having a good record, in what he described as 'a good level'.

The striker coming in is supposed to be 6 foot 2 inches tall, and has been chased by some leading Scandanavian clubs. He said the deal is close to being agreed.

While not giving away a name, but giving his height and good scoring record (if this is not a bluff) the possibilities can be crossed off one by one.

In the summer Pär Cederqvist rejected the Saddlers, deciding to sign for Raufoss of Norway. He is classed on the website as 6 foot 1 inches but websites are often an inch or two out in height. Born in 1980 this season he has played 11 games and has given a return of 10 goals.

Stefan Rodevåg of Falkenberg, Sweden is another possibility. He is in the 6 foot plus club and the 25 year old scored 17 goals in 29 appearances this season.

Junior joined Malmo this season having signed from Odense (another Scandanavian club). His stay in Sweden has been a major success with him scoring 8 goals in 15 games. But maybe he has an escape clause which allowed him to leave at the end of his first season with his Malmo?

Daniel Nannskog is a striker who hails from Sweden and has been playing for Stabæk in Norway. In the last three seasons he has scored 19 goals in 22 games, 32 goals in 33 games and 20 goals in 28 games. Ok, could we lure him to Bescot? I'm not sure but that scoring ratio will attract the biggest clubs in Scandanavia. Maybe Richard Money could sell him the potential of possibly playing in the Championship within a couple of seasons because that is our manager's ambition.

This is all speculation but this is what makes football so interesting! The bargains from Scandanavia are about, Richard Money has a great reputation in the region and this could be Walsall's trump card.
