Free kicks from Tommy Doherty and Russell Martin and a Matt Bloomfield strike gave Wycombe their first home win since December, 3-0 against a lacklustre Macclesfield.
Macclesfield struggled throughout and had their problems compounded when Jordan Hadfield was sent off in the second half.
Wycombe were on top for most of the first half and had the majority of possession.
They struggled to create chances, though, against a compact Macclesfield side which was intent on frustrating Wycombe.
As a result the hosts did not have their first real threat at goal until just before the half-hour mark. It was self made by the lively Scott McGleish who received the ball just outside the penalty area, chipped the ball over Dave Morley but hit his shot tamely at goalkeeper Tommy Lee.
Wycombe continued to probe without much luck until the 40th minute when they took the lead. Doherty scored with a majestic free kick that curled over the wall and into the postage stamp of the goal from 25 yards.
This gave Wycombe the lift they needed and they could have gone in at the break two goals to the good after McGleish was denied when one on one with 'keeper Lee minutes later.
Wycombe started the second half with the same intent and, after a lengthy period of possession, got their second.
Another free kick, this time from Martin gave them the cushion. Doherty tapped it forward for the right-back who hit a thunderous shot into the top left-hand corner of the goal, his second for the club.
Macclesfield had a brief comeback and put a little pressure on the Wycombe goal, with a Kevin McIntyre free kick which just flew over, their best chance.
But it was just an interlude and on 65 minutes Bloomfield collected Mooney's clever flick and struck a low left-foot shot into the bottom left corner.
