Sadlad's Away Day Preview - Peterborough United

I was hoping that my visit to London Road on Saturday would
see a new manager at the helm.Someone who we had quickly
in place following the removal of Jimmy Mullen last weekend
and someone with experience and bring something new to the
club and someone who we knew.I was hoping to give John Ward
a warm welcome as he took his seat on the bench at Peterborough
now unless there's a shock appointment within the next 24 hours
it looks like its all down to John Schofield.

A lot has happened at our club since we last played at Tranmere.
There is a lot of unrest amongst the supporters and rightly so and
it will be interesting to see the reaction from them at the game.I
hope the fans get behind the players but if they make their feelings
known towards you-know-who I may just join in.

When a club sack their manager it usually results in a reaction
that produces a win but I can't see Walsall getting much out of
this trip.Posh have only lost one L1 game at home this season
and with 7 wins and 3 draws they really are hard to beat.

They always look to have plenty of goals in them and in manager
Darren Ferguson have a bright young boss who has guided them
to 6th spot.I hope to see ex-Saddler Dean Keates play and I hope
the travelling fans give him a cheer. I don't blame the lad for wanting
to better himself.

There are several pubs in the area.I'm told The Cherry Tree pub in
Oundle Road is popular with away fans along with the Palmerston
Arms but I'm fascinated by Charter's that has a bar.Its apparently
a former Dutch barge moored on the River Nene in London Road!
I have never seen Walsall win in my three previous visits to the
ground. It would be a bonus for everyone if we could sneak a win
but with Ricketts suspended and no sign yet of any additional
firing power in this January window its as unlikely as Mick Halsall
having a change of heart and staying at Bescot.
