So once again Walsall and their small band of followers
head up the M6 on Tuesday hoping that their journey
will not be a wasted one this time.Carlisle for a night
game is bad enough-without the worry of if there will
be a game on.
For the game scheduled on 3rd Jan the supporters
coach got as far as junction 35 and had to to a U turn
home.We just hope we don't get a repeat of that this
time. The covers came off the Brunton Park pitch on
Monday morning and Carlisle don't have any pitch
inspections planned at the present though that could
change Tuesday morning.Fingers crossed.
Carlisle have Graham Cavanagh suspended and have
injury worries with Danny Livesey, Jeff Smith and
Michael Bridges ahead of the game.Meanwhile The
Saddlers will be without Steve Roberts and there are
doubts about Richard Taundry although Michael Ricketts
could be close to contention.Mark Bradley is also
available for this game. One player who will also be
missing is keeper Clayton Ince who is on international
duty.Rene Gilmartin will deputise.
Walsall, who are 12th in the table are still looking for their
first away win under new manager Chris Hutchings.Carlisle
who occupy 18th position have won 7 at home but lost 5,
scoring 25 goals with 19 against.
Its a hard game to predict. There probably won't be much
between the teams who have struggled of late. The only
real winner could be the weather.....
