Sadlad's Away Day Preview - Carlisle United

Last updated : 02 January 2009 By Andy Van Hagen
I'm looking forward to my visit to Carlisle- I always look
forward to visiting Brunton Park.Over the years it has
been such a productive away ground for me in my three
previous visits to this footballing outpost.

In my first first visit in 1986-7 we ran out comfortable 3-0
winners in Tommy Coakley's first season in charge. In
1990-1 I saw the Saddlers win by the same margin and
then two seasons after that I saw Walsall slam in four
goals-although we let in three. What a great seven goal
thriller that was!

Its hard to predict what the scoreline will be this season.
My luck of going all that way and seeing the lads lose
has to end sometime.

Carlisle this season have a home record of six wins, one
draw and four defeats. Its their away form that has cost
them dearly. We all know about Walsall's policy of not
concentrating for 94 minutes of games and I hope the
players have taken heed of manager Jimmy Mullen's
latest moans. We don't want a repeat of that again on
Saturday.

Before the game don't forget that big friend of WalsallMAD
Baldy_Blue,their passionate fan and mascot, wants to buy
anyone from here a pint in the nearby Rugby Club from
Ipm onwards.

Lets hope the first away game of 2009 brings a win.
Happy New Year-
