Sadlad's 2009/10 Away Day Preview - Accrington Stanley

Last updated : 10 August 2009 By Andy Van Hagen

The road to a possible elusive Walsall FC Wembley final begins this Tuesday as we head for the Fraser Eagle Stadium - or thCrown Ground as many locals still refer to. The ground has been the current home of Accrington Stanley for 41 yearsand is set in a location with views of fields and hills in this part of Lancashire.

Away fans are accomodated in an open end called the Coppice Terrace with a capacity of 1,500 which will easily cope with the band of Saddlers fans present. There are limited seats available but a nice change to be able to stand and move about a bit.

Tickets for this match are £13 adults standing and the seats £15.  The nearest pub is the Crown in nearby Whalley Road and a bit further down the same road The Greyhound.

Stanley kicked off their league campaign at Rotherham on Saturday and lost to an 89th minute goal. A chance for them to get that result out of their system and the question for Chris Hutchings is does he keep  the winning team from the Brighton game or be tempted to give one or two others a game?  Either way I hope Walsall can advance in this cup competition and the others this season. Last year was awful falling at the first round in each. Let's have a win at The Crown.
