The Sunday Mercury report Walsall are keeping tabs on the Port Vale central defender Luke Prosser.
Stating Anthony Gerrard looking likely to leave Walsall in the summer, manager Chris Hutchings is facing the prospect of having to strengthen his central defensive options. The paper highlight Prosser, 20, who is out of contract at the end of the season as a target. However Prosser, formerly of Leigh RMI would not be able to move as a free agent as he is under the age of 24.
Vale have yet to offer Prosser new terms and he has also attracted attention from Stockport and Rochdale.
