Saddler in team of the week

Ian Roper has been named in the Football League's League One team of the week. Walsall came away from Southend with a clean sheet and a point on Saturday, an achievement that not many teams have successfully managed this season. Ropers inclusion should be a reward for the entire teams defensive display and not just his own.

Also in the team is former Walsall centre back, now turned left back - Julian Bennet. His new club Nottingham Forest beat Swindon Town 7-1 at the weekend but it was Julian Bennett who really impressed the City Ground crowd. In his left back role Julian is looking a real attacking threat as he gets forward at every opportunity. I never really believed he would look comfortable in a left back role but he has made the position his own in his new team.
