Ruddy leaves, New keeper arrives

John Ruddy will be returning to Everton after this weekends game against Doncaster. Merson has decided to pick up the phone and arrange a deal to bring in last seasons loanee keeper Joe Murphy. Since leaving us Joe has left neighbours West Brom from whom we loaned him from. He managed to remain in the Premiership by linking up with Mick McCarthy at Sunderland. He was a member of Mick's Ireland squads and was signed as back up. Yet to play so far this season he has been loaned out to regain his sharpness - if thats the word!! Joe's problem last season was he looked unfit and had bad agility. My only hope is that Sunderlands fitness team have worked wonders with him. Murphy never played for us again after being sent off for lashing out at a Blackpool player for diving. Andy Oakes was signed and took over as number 1.

Andy Oakes requires surgery on his hand and is expected to be out for a couple of months.
