Rovers manager on Bescot point

After watching his side escape 'Fortress Bescot' with a point gained by a last minute equaliser, Rovers manager Paul Trollope gave his after match views to www.bristolrovers.co.uk.

"We were disappointed with the goals they scored, especially the second one. We give players jobs to do, and Richard Walker didn't do his job. That's the second time that's happened with him this month, so we'll have to have a look at that.

The first one was more a catalogue of errors, and we need to look at that as well. Overall though, we will go home pleased with the point, although there
is a tinge of disappointment and frustration that it's not more than that.

Fair play to the players, especially after we thought they'd scored what would probably be the winner late on. We showed a decent response to both goals, and there was a good spirit about us, and physically we were good as well.

We knew this would be a tough place to come, they are top of the table for a reason and not many sides will take anything away from here. We knew their front two, especially Butler, would be a handful, and that we would have to be resolute a times, which we were.

We thought we started well in the first half, their centre halves did well and the goalkeeper made some good saves. We thought in the second half it would open up a bit, and that we could hurt them.

It was a heavy pitch out there, but it was a good game and both teams tried to play football. We finished strongly, which is a good sign for Monday, and we'll be looking to take confidence from this result into that game against Torquay.

Today was a minor step forward for us, but we have to keep up our recent standards again on Monday. We've got three or four players waiting in the wings, and we'll have to see how everyone is before making decisions."
