Rochdale manager on the Bescot draw

Rochdale's manager Keith Hill gave his reaction to his club's official website www.rochdaleafc.co.uk after seeing his side conceed a very late equaliser in the dying seconds at the Bescot Stadium. Despite the late set-back he is pleased to have come away with some reward.

"We go into every game wanting to win and I suppose we have to look at the fact coming to a place like Walsall a draw is a favourable result.

The lads were outstanding again and I'd of probably taken this performance over the one they put in last week. To come here and play against a team that are not only top of the league, but have conceded just six goals and have only lost one home game we are really pleased with the result.

We competed well throughout the game and we what we saw from Walsall at times was pure desperation. I believe we have played against a team that didn't show as much heart and spirit as we did and the lads are disappointed they didn't win the game.

We have a week to work with our new players now that's if we can get them out of the physio's room. It's a bit like M.A.S.H down there at the moment with that many injuries and casualties but we had a lot of soldiers out there today.

It's possible we will have to have a look at the market for an emergency loan signing because we don't know what the situation is with Kelvin. He is down there with his leg in a brace and Alan Goodall could have a shoulder problem.

I'd like to say a big thank you to the fans today too. The support was positive and it feeds the players and breathes life into them. The feel good factor from the supporters does lend itself to what is happening on the pitch. It is important to remain behind the team and I know our supporters will do that all season."
