Ricketts Red Card Lands a 5 Match Ban

After being sent off for third time this season against Southend United this afternoon, Michael Ricketts is now facing a 5-match ban for Walsall as the season enters its crucial last three months.

Ricketts was dismissed for violent conduct after apparently retaliating to an earlier tackle on winger Alex Nicholls, by lunging in on Southend's Alan McCormack. Ricketts misses three games for violent conduct plus a further two games, one for each of the other red cards shown.

He will miss the following games:

Crewe (H) Mar 10th
Bristol Rovers (H) Mar 14th
Brighton (H) Mar 17th
Leyton Orient (A) Mar 21st
Cheltenham (H) Mar 28th

With four out of the five games being home matches, the loss of Ricketts will be a massive blow to Chris Hutchings, and raises fresh question marks over Ricketts's temperament as the season draws to a close.
