Walsall tonight beat Barnsley 6-2 as Michael Husbands made a claim for a start against Scunthorpe with a hat-trick.

Walsall lined up Tilt, Leaver, Satunton, Dann, Bennett, Kinsella, Deakin, Bradley, Larossa, Husbands, Demontagnac.  Subs. Sztybel, Smith, Nicholls, Bowen, McKeown

The Sadddlers second string won each half 3-1 but the main stars of the show were Husbands and Demontagnac.

Barnsley took the lead however after 15 mins having already had their keeper was sent off for handling outside the area to stop Larossa's effort.

Bradley set up Husbands for his first with a good low ball in which was slotted away from the ex-Villa trainee.  The second was set up by Demontagnac who cut inside to lay off Husbands who scored to take his second goal. In the dying moments of the first half Mark Bradley scored by puttin away Scott Danns header.

Barnsley scored first again in the second half but Walsall responded with Staunton sending up a long ball to the front man Husbands who notched his hat trick and in doing so sent Paul Merson a message that he is the man to get him out of trouble.

Our Fifth was a good move whereby Demontagnac fed Husbands who passed to larossa who scored a good team goal.  It was Larossa that again fired home a sixth goal and it was nice to see our reserve strikers forging both a good partnership and a deadly toutch in front of goal.

Dont be suprised to see Husbands, Larossa and Demontagnac in the Walsall squad against Scunthorpe on this performance.

Great game for the bescot crowd.  Walsall reserve games are now played at 7.30 with admission £2 adults, £1 concess and free to season ticket holders.  Either way GREAT value on this performance!!
