Paul Melin joined the Football League as an assistant referee in 1998. He was promoted to the Premier League list in 2003 and finally the Football League referees list in 2004. Paul was an assistant referee at the 2003 LDV Vans final between Bristol City and Carlisle.
Paul was in charge of Walsall's 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers back in October. This season he has taken charge of 25 games. In these games he has shown 77 yellow cards and 7 red cards.
