Referee Vs Port Vale

Last updated : 14 April 2006 By Andy Van Hagen

Walsall v Port Vale

Referee : A P D'URSO (Essex)

Assistant Referees : G Atkins and G M Brittain

Fourth Official : M A Harris

D'Urso is a referee who mainly takes charge of Championship and League One fixtures. He occasionally still makes the step up to the Premiership, having been a regular at that level in the past. This season he has taken charge of 30 games where he has shown 105 yellow cards and 8 reds.

He started the season showing a flurry of cards. After 9 games he had shown 36 yellows and 6 reds. Since then he has refrained from being 'red happy' and seems to be letting common sence rule rather than the letter of the law.

Neither Walsall or Port Vale have participated in a game this season where he has been officiating. This will be D'Ursos first game since Norwich 2 Leicester 1 on April Fools Day.
