John Gregory, one of the favourites to take over at Walsall has said that he is about to take over as the new manager of Hungary!

The story is covered in todays Daily Telegraph. Gregory has found it hard to find another management position in football since he left Derby under acrimonious circumstances. His previous clubs have been Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers.

Gregory has been linked with many vacant positions of late but now it seems that he will make the step up to International football. Hungary have been looking to appoint a ambitious manager since the departure of Lothar Mattaus who was sacked for faliure to guide Hungary to the World Cup finals.

Gregory had been a name touted about for the Walsall position, but now looks out of the running. Many fans wanted his appointment because of his success at Aston Villa and his experience of League One football with Wycombe.
