Chris Palmer has been placed on the transfer list by Walsall skysports.com report.
It is believed the 25-year-old and his agent met with Walsall Paul Taylor last week to discuss the player's contractual situation. when he joined Walsall it was only a six-month deal and while Walsall sounded like they wanted to re-new the deal, it seems the club has not lived up to Palmer's financial or security expectations? It was reported Walsall's financial difficulties was the reason why he was unable to be offered the security he was looking for (probably another 6 month deal was offered), further highlighting the money troubles at the club following the credit crunch and a massive drop in attendances during Jimmy Mullen's reign.
Skysports.com report he was looking for improved terms to reflect his 'impressive performances' at the Banks's Stadium this term. Quite who decides whether his performances have been impressive is debatable because the full back is far from popular with a section of the support.
Palmer has been a virtual ever-present this season and has shown great versitility playing at both full back and wing slots.
