Oakes injury worse than first thought

Andy Oakes isn't due to have the plaster taken off his wrist for a couple of weeks and even then, he may not be fully recovered and may need surgery to put it right. Paul Merson has already spoken to Everton about the possibility of extending Ruddy's loan contract to cover the extended injury lay off.

Ruddy has impressed so far in his loan spell. He particularly impressed at home against Brentford.
