No Schmeichel for Bury

Kasper Schmeichel will not stand between Waslall and victory at Gigg Lane next Tuesday, because the son of Peter has played the last game of his loan spell at the League Two club.

After his final game he told www.buryfc.co.uk how much he enjoyed his spell at the club:

"I'm very disappointed to be going. It's just playing regular first team football at a place where I really really like being. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth, but what can you do, rules are rules. There's nothing else you can do really

The rules say I have to go back now, if the rule wasn't there then Stuart Pearce would probably leave me here, but its out of my hands, there's nothing else I can do.

I don't know what my situation is at Man City now, I will have a meeting with the manager and see where we go. If Stuart Pearce thinks playing for the third team at City, or even on the bench for the third team, then I'll do that. It's up to him now what happens to me. It's not really in my hands what happens now. I love playing and that's all I want to do, it's just the way things are.

It's all about games for me. I'd love to come back to Bury and again, its all circumstances and it's what ever happens on the day.

League rules state that the maximum loan period is 3 months for players over 24 years of age. This means that Alan Fettis, Aaron Grundy and Mike Smith will battle it out for teh number one shirt at Gigg Lane.
