Nightmare for Merson

Paul Merson has revealed that our long term target Lee Peacock has signed for Swindon Town. We were also in competition with Chesterfield for the players signiture. The player decided on Swindon because of the geographical location - the furthest south of the interested parties. If the decision was based on football reasons then surely Swindon would be the least attractive proposal. Lee Peacock's wife hails from Portsmouth and it was well known that she wanted to return close to home. Swindon - Portsmouth is about a hour and a half away but its still alot closer than Chesterfield and the Midlands. Its a real coup for Iffy Onoura as he looks to keep Swindon in League One.

Worryingly apparently there is no plan B for a replacement, although having lost one player after revealing his identity then its likely plan B will be kept secret until a deal has been attempted / closed.
