Macclesfield, who disposed of Walsall in Round One, today beat Hartlepool United in Round Two. This will be to the delight of Richard Money who earlier this week told the Evening Mail: "If Macclesfield beat Hartlepool in the cup this Saturday that would be great because that would give us a break on January 6th after the Christmas period".
Having had no action this weekend, it has ensured Money has been able to give his playing staff a two day break to re-charge their batteries. He said "I'm not happy at being out of the cup but, in terms of our promotion challenge, it wont do us any harm at all".
