New Poll - Manager appointment time

Last updated : 20 February 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
A new Poll has been set up on the home page www.walsall-mad.co.uk

The question is ...

Should the new manager have been appointed by now?

Option 1 is: YES
Option 2 is: NO

The poll runs from: 20 February 2006 until 21 February 2006

Since Paul Mersons departure nearly two weeks ago Walsall have now played 3 games and picked up only 2 points. We are now in a worse position than we were when Merson was sacked. Two of the games we have played, have been at home but we have not won either of them. The pressure on picking up home points has become immense.  Walsall have only won 2 games away from home all season so we have become reliant on home points.

The Walsall Chairman Jeff Bonser will say it is vital to make the right decision and time must be taken to ensure the correct call is made. But let me put this to you. We have only 13 games left. We still have to play Southend, Doncaster and Swansea away, while we have up coming visits from Huddlesfield and Barnsley. This is not to mention the 6 pointers against Bristol City, Gillingham, Yeovil and Blackpool.

Should Walsall have brought a new manager in straight away so he had time to assess his squad? Scunthorpe and Oldham were great opportunities to gain a minimum of 4 points. They are now opportunities missed.  The new manager must have short term miricle worker on his CV - Colin Lee!?
