New Cov boss to be named in 24-48 hours

After watching Coventry City's 5-0 home humiliation by West Bromwich Albion the Sky Blues owner Ray Ranson was speaking about his search for their new manager.

On the new manager which Ranson refused to name, he said:

"We have been sifting through the applications and this proves nobody was lined up.

"We are confident of filling the manager's role within the next 24-48 hours.

"We are talking to the new man all the time and he is the right person for Coventry City to take us forward.

" The financial future for the club is safe but we have the biggest squad in the Championship and there is major rebuilding to do. "The new manager will get my help to do this."

Chris Coleman has emerged as the bookies favorite to land the post, followed by former WBA number 2 Nigel Pearson. Richard Money is still amongst the front runners but has drifted out slightly in the betting. It is believed Money has been enjoying a long weekend with our enforced week off.

Once Coventry have made the announcement we can all hopefully put the speculation behind us and concentrate on sustaining our play-off drive.
