Neighbours big FA Cup day

I would like to wish Chasetown the best of luck tomorrow against League One's Oldham Athletic. Ronnie Moores team would have wished that Chasetown decided to take the money and switch the game to Walsall FC, however the BBC stepped in and offered to show it live as long as it was at their place and not ours!! This has earnt Chasetown a £75,000 windfall in TV money, on top of gate recipts for 2000 fans, £22,000 for reaching the first round stage and who knows the £16,000 winners purse and next round fees!!! Ok im dreaming but its the romance of the FA Cup!!!

There have been examples for Chasetown to follow today with another local team Tamworth beating Bournemouth away - something we struggle to do!! Burscough beat Gillingham as well, proof that on the day anyone can win. Heart and desire can prevail.

Walsall have helped Chasetown by helping them organise the fixture. We have provided stewards, printed tickets, given them crowd segregation materials and produced a match day programme for them. Local busnesses have helped out as well by giving the club two new dugouts and one for the fourth official too!!

Best of Luck tomorrow Chasetown!! Hope to get you in the 2nd round!!!
