MIDFIELDER EXITS BESCOT

The 31 year old has left the club by mutual consent having struggled for first team action so far this season. His release will free up wages for possible new signings. Corica, formerly of Leicester, Wolves and Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan, made 82 appearances for Walsall. He was brought to Walsall on loan in 2002 and initially made a big impression, helping the Saddlers to avoid relegation. His impact has dwindled however and he had found himself behind the likes of Kinsella, Broad, Taylor, Osborn, Wrack and Merson in the reckoning for midfield places at Walsall.

Meanwhile, Merson has handed a trial to former Villa youngster Jonathan Bewers, 21. The full back has also spent time at Notts County and will play for our reserves tonight. Also in reserve action is Pedro Matias, the popular Spaniard is now on trial with Shrewsbury Town.
