"Merse was more upset with the goal he gave away and he has apologised for it in the dressing room. It was just one of those things," Saddlers boss Colin Lee said after the 1-1 draw at The Bescot.
"Before the game we would have taken a point, and I suppose in the end a draw was a fair result.
"We were trying to win the game and West Ham were hanging on."
