Merson piles pressure on Sven

Paul Merson today added his weight behind the football figures that have said Sven should be sacked from England. His reasons are that his formation is wrong, with players playing out of position and we really shouldnt be losing to a team like Northern Ireland!

Well I've seen alot of terrible formations! 4-3-1-2 to accomodate Paul Merson for example (commentaters say the England formation was based around Beckham)!! Ive seen Mark Wright a winger play right back for a season, Jorge a striker playing wide midfield and and last season Kris Taylor as left back when specialists were availiable! Also unfortunately i do think we should of beaten Slough Town!! Not to mention Swansea this season!

He says he doesnt know who could take over at this point! Well it wont be you just yet paul but hopefully in the future! Just get the basics that you accused Sven of right at club level first.

I can understand why Paul talks to the press about England, Arsenal and other footballing matters including Walsall FC and why the press want his views. He is so knowlegeable about the game and speaks what he believes in. As a Walsall fan that really wants to see Merson suceed as a manager (not just at Walsall, but beyond Walsall too). It frustraits me to see some of the things that Merson is quoted as saying. Especially last season and this season to an extent too really. I think he piles pressure on himself and builds up fans expectations. I think more thought should be taken into what he is saying as this would benefit him in the long run. Its a shame as i am always interested to hear his views but sometimes, some things are best left unsaid.
