Merson meets with Bonser

After the terrible farce away at Bristol City Paul Merson has approached Chairman Jeff Bonser about the possibility of a major re-shuffle of the clubs playing resources. Several ins and outs are expected with immediate action expected. Merson is known to be after a new midfielder for the away FA Cup tie at Barnsley at the very least.

Merson has stated the nucleus of the side is Anthony Gerrard, Daniel Fox and Ian Roper. While a few others show the commitment and quality he requires presumably this meaning Simon Osborn and Matty Fryatt.

We have been seriously let down by our seasoned pros particularly Chris Westwood, Mark Kinsella and Paul Smith. It is now time ship out the dead wood that are not striving for success and bring in young and hungry players with the heart and desire to succeed in the game. Not players who are falling down the leagues. I would rather sign a young 19 year old from a Premiership club than a 34 year old journeyman.

Ship out Joe Broad he is too old now for the serious improvements needed to succeed at this level, Telford are after him on loan. He has picked up a wage for too long and has given nothing in return. Loan out Daryl Taylor and let him regain form and fitness elsewhere, Tamworth were interested in taking him on loan.

Now is the time for changes. Bonser if you dont trust Merson to do it then get someone else to. Despite our terrible season we are still in with a very good shout of the play offs.
