Clayton McDonald's loan at Walsall FC has been extended by a month. After some impressive performances at the club his dad also was a fans favourite, the news of him staying longer term is a massive boost following the retirement of 29 year old Stephen Roberts on Thursday.

Clayton's loan spell expires after FA Cup first round clash on Saturday, November 7th and he has been granted permission to play in the game by Man City. This is an indication the loan may be extended for another month, taking his spell to the maximum 90 day emergency loan limit, as why cup-tie him if it would be his last appearance for the Saddlers?
