The Walsall boss revealed that talks over Samways future were expected to begin on Tuesday.

"Vinny Samways has not returned back from Spain and if he's not in the country, we can't really play him can we?," Lee said after the humiliating 6-1 drubbing to the Sky Blues.

"He's let down this club and his fellow players.

"He's not come back because he wants to leave this club. Apparently he's got a club for himself in Spain and now he wants to ditch us but he was looking for a club in Spain during the summer and nobody wanted him before we were prepared to give him a two-year contract.

"Vinny's family are still in Spain and we also agreed we would terminate his contract on February 10th, which is the date six months after he signed his contract, should he find the travelling a problem.

"So we have a signed and sealed agreement and I will not accept any player dictating situations.

"Now we have arranged a meeting on Tuesday morning at which we will inform Vinny and his representatives that if this continues we believe we will be within our rights to terminate his contract but withhold his registration.

"We can't have players turning up and going off when they feel like it."
