"Jamie hasn't made the impression that we expected him to," Walsall boss Colin Lee told the club's official website.
"At this stage of his career, he needs to be playing regular first team football, but we simply cannot offer him that.
"It has therefore been decided that it is in the best interests of all concerned if he leaves the club to try his luck elsewhere."
