Ishmel Relegated to Youth Team

Ishmel Demontagnac will be back in the youth team tomorrow as Paul Merson demotes him at the end of a week where the players commitment, discipline and maturity have all been called into question. Just how the player reacts to this is yet to be seen. I would hope the player gets his head down and plays himself back into first team contension. This cannot be guarenteed however as the player has built himself quite a reputation during December/early January.

Ishmel who missed the Bristol City shocker because he didn't know the game was on, has also shown a short fuse on the pitch lately. Merson has taken the stance that he needs to drop back to the youths to get perspective of things. This management decision cannot be called into question as we have put the long term future of the player first.

The player was refurred to by the manager in the infamous Radio interview this week. Merson said that certain players play a few games in the first team and then you cant tell them anything because they dont listen because they've 'made it'. One thing is for sure we will miss his pace and skill on the left wing at Barnsley but hopefully this will give the youngster the kick up the backside needed for him to return to his playing best.

We all know Ishmel is our favoured wing outlet, i just hope Ishmel reacts to this demotion in the correct way.
