Ireland call up Rene!

Rene Gilmartin has been included in the Ireland U21 squad to face a double header against Azerbaijan. The 18 year old will hope to follow in the footsteps of goalkeeping coach Mick Kearns and represent Ireland.

The call is certain to have been instructed by Republic of Ireland boss Steve Staunton who saw Gilmartin up close at the start of this season.

This season Gilmartin has been a regular for the reseves and has made 4 starts, conceeding 6 goals while keeping 1 clean sheet.
