Introducing the visitors Torquay United

Last updated : 03 November 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
We welcome Torquay United to Bescot on Saturday, who can only be described as a side experiencing a shocking run of form. Torquay have failed to register a win since beating Mansfield Town on Saturday 16th. Worse than that, our opponents have failed to score in their last SEVEN games.

One reason for their lack of goals is Tony Bedeau leaving Torquay in the summer to join us at Bescot. Having scored double figures last season for he left a huge void to fill. Leo Fortune-West will be playing his last game of a loan spell but he has yet to find the net this season for either Torquay or his parent club Rushden and Diamonds.

Their last visit to sunny Bescot was 2nd April 2005. Leroy Rosenior brought his side to Bescot in what was an unexpected relegation battle. The points were shared that day when Matty Fryatt equalised Akinfenwa's opener for the yellows. After that fixture Walsall won 5 games out of 5 and Torquay slipped into League Two.
