Central defender Matt Carbon has signed on-loan for Lincoln as he continues to fight to earn a permanent return to Colin Lee's squad.

Carbon started his career at Sincil Bank and made 83 appearances for the Imps after making his league debut back in the 1992/93 season. His last appearance for Lincoln came in March 1996 against Scunthorpe United.

Carbon has featured in 2 games for the Reserve Team since his return to football after taking a break from the game but Lee has numerous defensive options and hasn't the finances to offer him a permanent contract at present.

Speaking to the official Saddlers web-site Lee said: "Matt has worked hard in training but at this stage we need him to be playing regular competitive football again and Lincoln can offer him that in what is a challenging third division."
