How our striker prepares for our big game

Bournemouth at home on Tuesday night really is a vital game if we are to somehow manage the unlikely great escape. You would hope as a fan that your players will be fully commited to the cause and will be giving 100% concentration on getting the preparation correct for this vital fixture.

Imagine my surprise when Sky Sports News are advertising that Steve Claridge will be the pundit during the Conference game tonight featuring Grays Athletic and Exeter.

This is why its all wrong at Walsall, we have a squad full of loan players who will return to their clubs after the end of the season. If Walsall are relegated in regard to their careers it means little.

We have brought in 40 year old Claridge presumably to bring experience and professionalism to a young and inexperienced squad. Its all wrong.

Kevan Broadhurst is making the sounds of bringing professionalism back to Bescot but is signing a player with TV commitments professional? Claridge is his player, his only signing at the club.

I dont want to see our player on TV the night before a big game. I want to think of them getting pleanty of rest, especially after the weekends game, 40 year olds take longer to recover than their younger team mates. If he has a stinker against Bournemouth can we blame it on his TV commitments, the late night the night before. Your either a Walsall player or a TV pundit. Make your decision.
